air was working overtime. would i eat there again most likely not. Rated by: RogueRiverBear Rating: 07/02/2009 06:22 PMReview Text Thought this would be better than it was. Pizza is OK. Nothing special. I think they use already made crusts, but not positive. Brick over was nice touch, and necessary for a decent pizza.
Appetizers are absolutely nothing special. Waitress recommended calamari strips. For $10 bucks, I was expecting more than a small handful on the plate. What we ate was good, but poor value.
Loved the entertainment....it was comedy night, and the comics were both first rate. $10 cover charge, plus mediocre pizza. Still a fun night, but won't go again for just the pizza. There has to be better somewhere other than Portland, in Oregon!
On a positive note, the Oregon beers are wonderful. Rated by: foodie Rating: 10/01/2007 10:15 PMReview Text We have enjoyed Wild River for years. The last visit however, changed our minds. We ordered fish and chips which were greasy and even the formerly delicious chips were cold and limp. I am not anxious to return. Rated by: oldwally Rating: 08/10/2007 06:52 AMReview Text Oh Yea! Pizza and beer. Staff friendly, food excellent, and the beer is outstanding.
Rated by: Kaceerae Rating: 05/26/2007 06:51 PMReview Text It's always interesting to me how different people can have such different experiences at the same restaurant. I have been going to Wild River for some time now, and I have never frequented a restaurant that was as consistent in the quality of food and service. The waitstaff is always helpful and prompt and the pizza, pastas and beer are outstanding. Their desserts are delicious as well. The best part about this place is that EVERYTHING is homemade!! NO MSG, no additives. They make their own pasta, desserts, microbrew beer, breads and salad dressings. This is a great place to go for someone who has allergies. While I'll be the first to say that no restaurant is perfect, if I have ever had a mistake happen here, the staff takes care of it immediately and satisfactorally!! (don't think that I spelled that right:-)) I would (and do)recommend this restaurant to everyone that I can.... Rated by: cdb Rating: 04/11/2007 03:33 PMReview Text WE ATE THERE LAST WEEKEND AND THE SERVICE WAS OK. THE BEER WAS OK. THE FOOD WASN'T SOMETHING I WOULD EVEN FEED TO MY DOG. WE WAITED 1 HOUR FOR OUR FOOD WHILE 6 TABLES AROUND US CAME,ATE AND WENT. THE WAITPERSON WAS VERY NICE, BUT THE LATENESS OF THE FOOD SERVICE WAS UNEXCUSEABLE. MY FOOD WAS BURNT AND MY SPOUSE WAS SO MAD ABOUT THIS HE LOST HIS APPETITE. THE MANAGER COMPT'D US OUR MAIN DISHES AND STILL OVER CHARGED US! WE HAD TO HAVE THE WAITPERSON GO BACK TO HIM TO HAVE IT CORRECTED. WHAT A BAD EXPERIENCE Rated by: FaerieChild Rating: 10/31/2006 12:35 AMReview Text This is one of my favorite places to go with friends. the atmosphere is casual, but the food is not! Their calazones are to die for, their butgers are massive and overflowing with toppings, and although their pizzas aren't my favorite kind of pizza (very thin crust) it is still a well made pizza with high quality (and quantity) toppings. The service here is exceptional---Lisa rocks, and all the helpers have wonderful senses of humor and seem downright happy to be there! Rated by: CrazyNewWay Rating: 05/11/2006 01:22 AMReview Text D is for dreadful and that's what the last pizza we ordered from WR was. The crust had the texture of rubber and the taste of cardboard. It was as if they ran over to Abbey's and borrowed some frozen crusts. Yuk, totally not worth the $$.
Good salad and beer though. Rated by: Former User Rating: 10/24/2005 11:30 PMReview Text If you like beer, this is the place. The food is good (hamburger or fish and chips are our favorites) but the beer is great! The stout is really excellent, all the brews are drinkable. Rated by: Nelson Rating: 08/12/2005 04:59 AMReview Text Just recently tried this and I like the variety of thier menu. You have to like wood fired pizza for thier pizza though. I don't but I have like everything else there. Been back twice since. Only thing close to a complaint is the service sometimes is a little slow but even with that, your drink is never empty very long. Rated by: Nelson Rating: 07/30/2005 05:50 PMReview Text Heard good things abou tthis place from an oldtimer. Tried the pizza, ok, not special. Service ok. Will try again because menu looks to be interesting. Rated by: SSEAKIN Rating: 07/26/2005 06:08 AMReview Text Always great food. Thy the huge hamburger.
