I love this restaurant. We took my mom there tonight as payment for hemming a dress for me. She had her usual clams in garlic broth and loved them as usual. I had the ribeye steak with mushroom bernaise sauce and it was wonderful. My husband had a huge bean and chicken burrito and said it was great. Great food and good service, what more can you ask?? I wish more people would take the drive out there, it is so worth it!!

The Shan Creek Cafe was highly recommended to us by a dear friend so we had to try it out. The atmosphere is okay but the food is the VERY BEST in all of the Grants Pass area ! Our waitress, Rachael, was absolutely fantastic in making us feel so very welcome and serving us such delicious food that Angel prepares so superbly. Everything was scrumptitious; from the freshly baked warm bread and salad to the salmon and side dishes. All was cooked to perfection and so prettily decorated to enhance the presentation. The mud pie was out of this world and the decaf coffee was the very best we've ever in any restaurant. We have already told many friends about this glorious experience and certainly plan to return soon.... Thank you Angel and Rachael for making our dining experience one to remember.

This place is fantastic. The menu is filled with wonderful breakfast and lunch choices. If you come for dinner there are always scrumptious specials listed in addition to the regular fare. Wonderful local wine selection also. Yes the place is for sale but it is still open (Thursday through Sundsy) and Angel is one of the best chefs in town. Well worth the drive from town.

I've been three times now. Brought some out-of-towners the first two times, and local friends the third time. This is not cook, but a chef...(Angie). First time I had seared Ahi Tuna with a mango salso with brown-rice and coconut and some really good fresh snapy green beans. Served with warm, fresh bread, and some good wine.
This place is incredibly good/tasty/well-served, and is...out in the middle of nowhere...in what used to be the Shan Creek Market and Gas Station!!! Now...it is 4stars...don't take my word for it, try it.
I went traditional with fish & chips the second-time out to Shan Creek Cafe, but my guests had the fish tacos and the huge black-bean burrito. It was all great. Third-time-out we had a vegan aboard, and the waitress (Jo...she is wonderful)told us that "She" would make any sort of linguini or whatever dish...came back to tell us that "She" would be able to produce a Thai-Curry-Vegetable dish over rice, if we wanted (not on the menu). Both our vegan and my wife said, "yes, please!"
Davey and I had the Rib-eye smothered in mushrooms...a bottle of local red...it was all TOO incredible. Open Thursday thru Sunday...eat there.

Amazing food!

So they have their menu, which is filled with glorious regular items, like fish tacos, an massive burrito, fish and chips, a lovely selection of sandwiches, all at decent prices. Certainly worth bring the kids and making a family dinner out of.

But we went for some of the specials.
Hubby had the mint basil lamb medallions with whipped potatos and broccoli.
I had the seafood Linguini.
First Hubby was served a very nice green salad with her homemade basalmic vinagrette---not a leaf of iceberg to be seen(yeah!) With the best crusty bread---nice crisp crust, not too thick---and soft as can be on the inside. And I had the homemade clam chowder. Not as thick as I like a chowder, but it totally made up for that in taste---very buttery and rich.
Then came the entrees! Hubbys lamb was wonderful! Very mild flavor with lots of pesto with pine nuts and cooked just right---very lean. The broccli was also cooked perfectly, and the whipped potatos were very light. Hubby was extremely pleased.
My linguini was full of seafood---lots of mussles, scallops and shrimp. And the portion was gi-normous!!! I have LOTS in a take-out box in my fridge! The sauce was rich, with just enough garlic to give it a little kick. Yummy! I wanted to keep eating and was very disappointed to find myself getting full!
I stopped... just so I could fit in dessert!
Hubby had the best cheesecake he has every eaten (and he's tried his fair share!) Blueberry Honey cheesecake. It had the creamiest texture I have ever had (yes, I ate half of his... but he ate half of mine too ) It was like eating bud-da!
I had the blackberry pie ala mode. It had fresh whipped cream on top too----wonderful pie! Flakey crust, sweet berries with just enough tart to grab you at the end.

All in all... I think we've found a new favorite place!

Better hurry, Angel has the place for sale. 6/10 of an acre, cafe and house for ....I forgot. Somewhere between $450K and $650K. Noticed a For Sale sign on the property next door. Think it had some acreage. Perhaps an opportunity for someone to snag both properties.

Anyway, I had Caesar salad, Quesadilla and crab cakes. Really Good. Better Half had ribeye with mashed spuds. Just fine.

We enjoyed a late afternoon lunch at Shan Creek. I recommend the fish and chips as they were quite good. I loved the side of cole slaw and the creamy tartar sauce. I look forward to trying their mixed greens with pecan encrusted chevre.

We enjoyed our lunch yesterday at this new restaurant. All things are "relative" (properly related in size or degree or other measurable characteristics; usually followed by `to'). In the rating system used here "B+" is "memorable" - to me that means "would I return?" - The answer is a definte YES. This new restaurant is clean with well prepared dishes, a nice menu, and certainly worthy of a visit. In my opinion, it is not at the level of, the Backroad Grill for example, hence a B+ in my opinion.

On a trip to the river, I came upon this wonderful secret along Riverbanks Road and stopped in for a bite to eat. What a surprise! Both the atmosphere and the cusine were inviting. The menu is eclectic while still remaining simple. Everyday, great specials are offered. I had the most wonderful steamed clams and I was told that Friday night Prime Rib is served as a special... A "must visit"!
