User ReviewsRated by: CrazyNewWay Rating: 07/11/2009 09:25 PMReview Text We enjoyed a quite dinner at Tutto Bene. This restaurant is tucked away in the far corner of Allan Creek Shopping Center and you wouldn't imagine the transformation that occurs when you walk in the door. You go instantly from parking lot to soft music, candle light and Tuscan-style frescoes, the lovely aroma of dinner wafting through the dining rooms. Friday night and we were seated right away and presented with warm rolls, herbed olive oil and balsamic dip and ice water with lemon, (nice touch).
There is a lot to choose from on the menu of standard Italian-American cuisine. There is also an extensive wine list, full bar and fancy Italian drinks and martinis.
In my opinion the portions were huge and easily served two. I really wanted to try the stuffed portobello mushroom appetizer but I knew I'd never get to the entree, so I'll save it for another time.
We split a Caesar salad. It was nice with a light and creamy dressing, but could have used a kick with some anchovies and fresh cracked pepper on top.
We could have also split the entree but my husband likes the politically incorrect veal and I....don't.
He ordered the veal Marsala. The presentation was beautiful! The veal was tender apparently tasty and was mixed with roasted potatoes and a vegetable melange and was garnished with a sprig of lovely green pea sprouts. He said he enjoyed the veal and really liked the potatoes and vegetables, but the Marsala sauce was a bit overwhelming and tended to linger with him throughout the evening.
I ordered the linguini Vongole Bianco, linguine and clams. Again the presentation was beautiful, sauteed clams in olive oil, garlic, white wine, tossed with pasta ala dente and topped with chopped tomatoes and a sprig of sweet pea sprouts. It was delicious and the portions were enormous. I have lunch for three left over! The only thing that was missing was some freshly ground black pepper and maybe a little fresh Parmesan cheese.
We split a tiramisu for dessert. It was light and sweet and quite mild.
The service, as we've experienced in all of the Flores owned restaurants was friendly and top notch. They always do a great job making their guest feel welcome and comfortable.
We'll be back again and next time well bring back up. :D Rated by: AnEyeForTaste Rating: 06/23/2009 07:22 PMReview Text Tutto Bene is Perfecto!
From the moment we entered the establishement, we experienced a first-class, white-tablecloth dining experience, something we would love to see more of in Grants Pass.
Tutto Bene engages all one's senses. The ambience and presentation is spectacular. From the moment we stepped in the front door we were treated as though we were the only customers (the place was packed)and provided individual attention.
Not one to drink I succumbed to the spell of the Espresso Martini and was impressed by its visual presentation as well as taste.
This was followed by an exquisite salad -- fresh and crisp -- a far cry from prepackaged, wilted iceberg that is served in most Grants Pass eateries.
The bread is truly a slice of heaven -- warm and light and airy -- I could have made that a meal.
The entrees were all cooked to perfection -- and again, all ingredients FRESH.
Our server, noting my camera, offered to snap a picture to commemerate our dining ecstasy. Outstanding service indeed.
We drooled over the dessert menu but decided to return another time so we could fully appreciate the anticipation of another foray to Tutto Bene. This one tops our list of fine dining, reasonable prices and exceptional service.
Rated by: dbg Rating: 06/10/2009 02:10 PMReview Text Have eaten here twice...food is excellent! Rated by: CraigAnd Rating: 02/06/2009 06:07 AMReview Text Tutto Bene was a very pleasant surprise! After reading reviews on ILGP, we made our first trip this evening with two guests.
The restaurant, in terms of decor, is clean, neat and intimate. White table clothes adorned the tables and we were greeted by a friendly and attentive wait staff. As you enter this store front restaurant, you immediately notice the small, full-bar, behind which is a clean neat kitchen.
The menu is very fairly priced for Grants Pass ranging from $12 - $29. The Italian entrees are typical with pasta, chicken, fish, lamb and veal. There is a modest wine selection with Italian imports but California and Oregon wines are also available with a reasonable selection of "wine-by-the-glass".
Adriana was our server on this occasion and she was outstanding. Attentive to detail, helpful with suggestions (which were "right on"), with a friendly charming personality characterized this young waitress.
There are seven appetizers on the menu and we selected the "Provolone Fritti" which easily served four. This stuffed Provolone ring with peperoni & herbs was triple crusted and flash fried & served over spicy Marinara. Outstanding and highly recommended! ($7)
All four of our entrees were excellent.
"Petto di Pollo a la Sorrentina" featured Executive Chef Effren's layered chicken breast with roasted eggplant, Provolone cheese & roasted red peppers, finished in a Marsala sauce, grilled Polenta & sauteed vegetables. Excellent! ($20).
"Pollo a la Marsala" This dish was particularly good with a tender, juicy, boneless chicken breast sauteed with white mushrooms, shallots & Marsala wine finished with a touch of demiglase served with garlic mashed potatoes & wilted vegetables. ($19)
I tried the Chef's signature dish "Osso Buco di Agnello" which was a very flavorful lamb shank braised in the oven with red wine, Italian herbs & roasted tomatoes, served with a creamy Saffron Rissoto. I have had this dish in other Grants Pass restaurants as well as Medford and must say this was THE BEST of the lot! ($22).
For the unfortunately allergic this restaurant could not be any better. A carefully selected "allergy-free" pan assured there was not cross contamination, as so often happens in restaurants less attentive to detail, for the seared fillet of Salmon specially served with sauteed vegetables. Excellent! ($21).
There are a nice selection of desserts to cap off a truly wonderful meal. ($6-$8)
All of us, individually, rated this dining experience an A+. :D Rated by: Gatorman Rating: 01/01/2009 02:59 AMReview Text Romantic atmosphere; the plating of the food was artistically done and the food was delicious! We certainly would plan a return trip to this fine restaurant.
