The only Japanese-owned Japanese restaurant in Grants Pass--maybe in all of Southern Oregon! If you want delicious and authentic home-style Japanese food, this is place; the sushi is the best in the valley, with generous portions.
Coming from someone who has lived in Japan, ask the Japanese waitresses (or the half-Japanese owner/sushi master) to recommend something authentic, rather than just ordering the typical American take on Japanese food (teriyaki; California roll, etc). Try the 'hamachi-kama', which is a very authentic home-style cooked yellowtail collar.

After reading all of the sushi reviews here and eating at several, inlcluding several times at Musashi, I want to lend my vote to their outstanding sushi. :)
My husband almost always orders the chicken teriaki and tempura shrimp. He loves it. I usually get sunomono (that's cucumber salad with octopus) it's great! Once they did cut the octopus too big for my taste but, just once, in fact tonight it was so good I had two orders. :)
I usually go for one of the fish specials tonight it was Albacore, it was very fresh.
The guys behind the counter are funny and nice.
They have a G gauge train! That's fun to watch.

I love going there for my weekly sushi fix. My only problem is selecting what to eat, I have to many "favorites". When I go with my wife, it is easy to over order and over eat. I blame her, which takes me off the hook. Besides the original JD Roll, try baked green muscles and shrimp boats. We even had kitchen food last visit and the beef ribs were a great accompaniment to our sushi order. It is also nice to see Rich's son Tim behind the bar as his number 2 sushi boy. Great food, fun atmosphere.

have eaten a lot of sushi over the years. Musashi doesn't have as many gimmicky rolls as some other restaurants but it does have the freshest, highest quality fish.
As far as rolls go, have an original JD roll.
Both PQR ratings (price quality ratio and price quantity ratio) are at the top.

This place is great! This is the ONLY place in Grants Pass that is always consistent in outstanding food quality, presentation, and service. I have never had a bad meal here. When you sit at the sushi bar, it is like paying for dinner and getting a show for free, the sushi chefs are a riot! I love this place and we will continue to be loyal patrons.

Just re-visited Musashi this weekend. Party of 4, we spent just over $100 and brought home more than we ate! The value was AWESOME and the sushi was to die for!!! Cant wait to go back again!

Musashi's is a great place day or night. The sushi bar is awesome and features a train that delivers your ordered sushi to you. The chefs (last time I was there) were entertaining and pleasant. Musashi's also features a red room, that I consider a nice contemporary motif...you can't go wrong.

I think Musashi has the best sushi in town. We LOVE sushi/nori rolls we've never been disappointed. It's a very happy place to enjoy a meal.

We love this place. My husband is a sushi nut and says it is the best. We love the chicken teriyaki, beef teriyaki, gyoza, and love all the noodle dishes! Never been disappointed in over a year and we eat there 4 or 5 times a month.
