The I Love Grants Pass Photography Contest

Official Rules

Thank you for interest in our contest! The purpose of this contest is to promote a positive image of Grants Pass, Oregon and have fun.

1. The I Love Grants Pass Photography Contest (hereafter known as The Contest) is open to all legal residents of the United States (except as mentioned in Item #3 below). You do not have to currently reside in Grants Pass, Oregon. This contest is open to individuals only. No business, company or organization of any kind may submit entries.
2. The Contest is operated by Rogue Valley Group (hereafter known as Contest Operator), a sole proprietorship doing business in the State of Oregon.
3. No owner, employee or immediate family of the Contest Operator, sponsor or an official judge can win the contest. Entries may be submitted but they will not be eligible to win a prize.
4. This contest is sponsored, in part, by the following: ILoveGrantsPass.com, GrantsPass411.com, RedlineTech.net, Beckner Media, and Myrna Oakley (author).
5. No purchase is required to enter The Contest.
6. Limit: Up to 20 (twenty) entries may be submitted per person.
7. Prizes: A minimum of 20 "prize packs" will be awarded. A prize pack consists of a DVD (Lighthouses of the Oregon Coast) and a book (Oregon: Off the Beaten Path). Additional prizes, if any, may be awarded to the first place finishers in each category.
8. Each entrant can win a maximum of one prize. In the event more than one photograph wins a prize, only the highest prize will be awarded. There is a limit of one prize per household.
9. Winners can arrange to pick up their prizes in person at a future meeting (to be announced) or have their prizes shipped via USPS regular mail.
10. To participate in The Contest, the entrant must legally own the photographs being submitted. No third-party owned photographs will be allowed. (You must be the owner of the photographs you enter.)
11. All photographs must have been taken in the "Grants Pass area." This is NOT the same as ALL of Josephine County. Generally speaking this is any area within 15 minutes of driving distance from the downtown post office. Decisions regarding the eligiibility of photographs based on the "Grants Pass area" will be at the sole discretion of the Contest Operator.
12. There is no age limitation on photographs. Older photos can be submitted, but only be the legal owner of the photograph.
13. This is a wholesome contest. Photographs that are deemed to be inappopriate will be ignored at the sole discretion of the Contest Operator. This may include, but is not limited to: hate speech, invasion of privacy, copyright violation, obscenity and discrimination.
14. Photographs may not be "digitally altered", including: the addition of text, combining multiple images together, software modification (Photoshop, etc.), or the presence of watermaterks and/or copyright measures.
15. Entrants will be required to certify legal ownership of photographs submitted and that the photographs were taken in the Grants Pass area (as defined above).
16. All entries must be submitted via the Contest Upload page on ILoveGrantsPass.com. Entries received by any other means will not be accepted or returned.
17. Deadline: No entries will be accepted after November 30, 2004 11:59 PM.
18. The Contest Operator is not responsible for lost, late, stolen, and/or misdirected entries. The Contest Operator is not responsible for technical malfunction or data loss. Contest participants are advised to keep their own backup copies of all entries.
19. By submitting a photograph in The Contest, entrants agree to the following: Photographs will remain the sole property of the entrant, but the Contest Operator will be granted an irrevocable and perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide right, to use, publish, and/or alter your photographs for the exclusive benefit of the Contest Operator.
20. By entering The Contest, entrants grant permission to publish their real name on the winner's list.
21. A team of amateur and volunteer judges will rate all submissions on the basis of individual merit, content, theme (I Love Grants Pass), and originality.
22. The decision of the judges is final.
