MISSION STATEMENT

I Love Grants Pass.com is a community forum. It's a place to further a positive image of Grants Pass, get local news, promote your business, link to your home page, learn about upcoming events, support worthy causes, swap recipes, make new friends, get political, and have fun.

TERMS OF SERVICE (TOS)

Preface: The TOS are in place to protect our sense of community here at ILGP and ensure fairness to everyone.

We like to promote a community oriented family atmosphere. We reserve the right to take any action we deem necessary to further that goal.

Basic Rules
The following simple rules are meant to support the type of clean, family-friendly community forum that we want to have:

1. No personal attacks. (Focus on the issue or point, not the person.)
2. Do not identify individuals by real name EXCEPT in the form of an opinion. (Ex: In my opinion, Mayor Smith is weak on crime.) In general, ordinary private people should never be mentioned by name.
3. Do not direct negative posts against a single user identified by name.
4. Do not modify or use someone else's "avatar" image without prior permission. (It's considered rude.)
5. No name calling.
6. No obscene material in posts or links.
7. No profanity.
8. Do not violate copyright laws.
9. By posting messages, you consent that your message may be edited to conform to this policy.
10. Please do not bring private email or comments into a public debate without permission of the author. This is considered rude.
11. There will be times when discussion gets heated, especially when discussing political or religious issues. If you choose to participate in those types of conversations, we urge caution if you are upset. It is better to delay posting when your anger would result in a personal attack.
12. The sharing of accounts is strictly prohibited. Every user must establish their account and access to the system via our registration procedure. The sharing of account passwords is strictly prohibited.

Violations of this policy may result in deactivation of your account. (This is often referred to as "banning.") We will try to provide warnings, when appropriate, but reserve the right to take immediate action without notice.

Continued use of the ILoveGrantsPass.com web site constitutes acceptance of these terms. If you do not agree, please let a member of the Mod Team know and your account will be removed.

"Safe Surf" Advisory
We urge extreme caution when choosing to reveal personal information about yourself.

Anti-Favoritism Policy
Our PROMISE is that we will strive to apply the TOS to everyone on the site in a fair and equal way.

General Rules
Avatar images (pictures displayed by your username) are limited to 96x96 pixels in size and 20,000 bytes.

Board Spamming
Please post your topic in one forum only. Repeating the same post on multiple boards is called "spam."

Posting messages in support of your business is encouraged. Please choose the correct board for your message and don't spam.

Variable Board Ratings
On "G" rated boards (Recipes, Events, Charity, etc.) NO profanity of any kind will be tolerated. (We will apply the "Bambi rule." If it's a word you wouldn't hear in a Bambi movie, we will edit your post.)

"PG" will be for the remainder of the boards. Profanity is still strongly discouraged.

Individual boards will indicate their rating.

Thread Placement
There are a variety of boards for different subjects. Please try to find the best board for your post. We may move your post if we feel it fits better on another board. If we do, we'll let you know.

Thread Topic
Each thread usually has a specific topic or subject. Sometimes, during follow-up posts, the direction may go off on wildly different directions. Taking a thread somewhere new is called a "thread jack." If your post will be completely unrelated to the subject being discussed, perhaps you should consider starting a new thread.

We will try to keep threads focused by:

• Posting friendly reminders when follow-up comments seem to go off track
• Encouraging follow-ups to a different thread and/or board
• Splitting threads
• Locking threads (when necessary)

Classifieds Board Policy
Threads in the Classifieds section of this forum MUST remain strictly on topic. Replies that are off-topic, debate-like, or critical of the original post or author will be removed without notice. To maintain fairness for all who post here there will be ZERO TOLERANCE in enforcing this policy.

Moderating Actions
To keep the board operating smoothly and enforce the TOS, possible moderating actions we may take include:

• Post editing
• Post/thread moving
• Thread splitting
• Thread locking
• Thread deleting

If your thread/post is acted upon, a member of the Mod Team will notify you via PM (Private Message).

We reserve the right to determine which action is appropriate when we decide action is warranted.

Self-Edited Content:
The software used on ILGP forums (phpBB) allows message posters the ability to edit their own posts. The software does NOT record what was edited. Original information, once edited, is gone.

We will not be responsible for information that has been edited and is no longer available on the site.

If you see something that doesn't belong, the best thing to do is report it (privately) to the board moderator or a site admin.

Housecleaning:
From time to time, older threads may be removed in entirety. This may occur in the form of "pruning," the automated removal of older threads (to reduce database size) or on a manual basis. In either case, use of the system constitutes acceptance of this policy that messages posted are subject to removal without cause.

IP Addresses:
Our software and web server automatically captures the IP address of all activity on the site.

Consequences:
Anyone who repeatedly and willfully breaks the rules, or who generally engages in rude, anti-social behavior, will be banned.

If you have been banned you are not permitted to log on again using a different username. Previously banned members who attempt to re-register will be immediately banned, regardless of behavior.

Reporting Violations:
If any user of ILGP has concerns about any of the following they should contact a moderator immediately. We will investigate and respond to all reported abuse.

• Terms of Service (TOS) violations
• User behavior
• Anything else not covered

The Mod Team makes a reasonable effort to review what is posted on the site. Reporting abuse often leads to "enforcement by complaint." Reporting abuse is vital the Mod Team may not necessarily see every post in a timely manner. Also not everyone may have the same opinion all the time. Reporting a post will enable the Mod Team to have a discussion and reach a decision.

All reports of abuse will be investigated in a timely manner. The reporting party will receive a response at the end of our investigation.

Please do NOT post your concerns publicly. This is for the privacy and fairness of all.

Current moderators are always indicated on the forum index. Site administrators are: Tim, openminded. This group is often collectively referred to as "The Mod Team" or MT for short.

Family and Health Board Policy
Discussions on the Family and Health Board are not intended to replace a physician's care. If you have a medical problem or question, you are free to discuss it on the board. However, all medical treatment should be supervised by your doctor.

Political Discussion Boards - Three Strikes Policy
Special access is required for the Political Discussion board. (This is given out upon request.) We realize that people make mistakes from time to time, and that is why we have a "three strikes" rule: you are generally allowed to break the rules three times, at which point your account is suspended and you are banned from the forums. If you haven't learned your lesson once you break the rules a third time, then it's unlikely that you will ever learn your lesson. However, we're nice people, and we may reduce your warning level at our discretion as time goes on if you're an active, positive member of the community.

Suspended Accounts
If your account is suspended, it is unlikely that we will re-activate it, although we may decide to do so at our discretion; pestering us about it will only delay our decision on this matter. If you create a new account merely to evade your account suspension, that account will be suspended immediately and your original account will likely remain suspended forever.

Membership Requirements:
You must be registered to post comments on our web site. Registration consists of choosing a user name and password and providing your email address (which will be verified). Much like the Daily Courier's "Letters to the Editor" requirements, we require the following information for continued membership here:

• Your real name, first and last
• Your street address, city, state and zip code
• Your phone number

Per our Privacy Policy this information will never be released. Since the software we use does not ask for this information, you may be asked by a member of the Mod Team to supply this information at any time after joining the site. Failure to provide the information, when asked, will result in your account being disabled.

Account Closing Policy

Each member of ILGP shall have the right, at any time, to request the closing of their account. This is the procedure:

1. Send your request to Tim via email at: tim@roguevalleygroup.com.
2. Account closing requests will be handled promptly at the time they are received.
3. Account closing is reversible. Send an email request to Tim to have your account restored.

No reason for account closing is required. Per this policy, all account closing requests will be handled in a neutral manner and without public comment of any kind.

If asked by IGLP members for an explanation of the account closing, this statement may be publicly released: The account was closed due to user request.

Post Ownership, Copyright and License Policy

ILOVEGRANTSPASS.COM reserves the right to edit or delete any post, and to block or ban any user's access to the forums, at any time.

Contributors of posts to ILOVEGRANTSPASS.COM Forums expressly agree that ILOVEGRANTSPASS.COM is not obligated to remove either username or posts made by its members, nor is ILOVEGRANTSPASS.COM required to publicly maintain any username or any posts by any member.
